The Melansol Difference
In the last 8 months I have come to understand that the battle to inform America about the importance of using a sunscreen that contains topical antioxidants is just beginning. Whenever I have an opportunity to get face-to-face with people, the number one question I get is, "What's the SPF?"
In the last 40 years, the sunscreen industry has done an excellent job of convincing people that a higher SPF equals significantly more skin protection. Actually, aside from the fact that SPF is only an indicatior of UVB protection, this is not the case. In fact, the difference between an SPF-20 and an SPF-30 is only 1.6%.
A report by The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology supports the MelanSol formulation. It concluded that traditional sunscreens are "inadequate" at protecting you from photoaging damage--free radical based UV skin damage that causes excess wrinkles, sagging skin, sun spots and skin cancer.
The report goes on to say that a new generation of sunscreen, containing topical antioxidants, is what is necessary in order to protect your skin from the type of photoaging skin I just mentioned.
This means that the majority of sunscreen lotions on the shelf don't protect the way you have been led to believe. You might not experience sunburn due to the absorbtion of UV rays by their chemical UV filters (active ingredients), however, the photoaging skin damage stills goes on.
All you need to know is that lifetime skin damage can only be prevented when you protect your skin from the free radical accumulation caused by UV rays. To do this, you have to apply strong topical antioxidants every time you expose your skin to UV rays. This is why dermatologists around the country tell you to use sunscreen everyday. The problem is that traditional sunscreens don't contain the antioxidants necessary to give you the protection you need prevent the damage they are refering to.
MelanSol was invented to approach skin protection from a new perspective--a 100 percent natural formula that combines super antioxidants with UV filters. Each MelanSol lotion has the exact same level of super antioxidants. What differs is the level of UV filtering. MelanSol lotions can filter anywhere from 50% to 95% of the UV rays you expose yourself to, providing you with levels of protection that meet your every need and circumstance.
Our goal at PureSunscreen.com is to educate and inform. Only then can you choose the best protection for your skin and that of your family.
