Helioplex-What is it?

I have had several people tell me that they are using a new higher SPF sunscreen made by a popular manufacturer. This manufacturer has been advertising a new ingredient called "Helioplex" that allows their UV protection to last longer.

The question is, what is Helipolex? Here is an explanation according to wikipedia.

Helioplex is a proprietary name for a formulation of broad spectrum UVA/UVB skin protection containing Avobenzone and Oxybenzone.

These two ingredients are not new. If you want to investigate them for yourself, visit EWG.com (a Washington watchdog group) and go to sunscreens. Once there, you can search any sunscreen ingredient to discover it's pros and cons. One thing I know for sure, I would never apply either of these two ingredients to my skin, regardless of how they have been formulated.

Be well,
